Confluence Administrative Knowledge Base
- The CLAS Administrative Knowledge Base has been launched.
- There is a calendar featuring deadlines and reminders, as well as guides on our various programs and processes.

PTR & Interfolio: July Updates
CLAS has created a PTR & Interfolio Updates page, which features upcoming PTR/PR deadlines, a Process Spotlight, FAQs, and helpful resources.
Faculty Searches
- As of July 1, all new faculty job ads and applications are to be handled directly in PageUp.
- Integration with Academic Jobs Online (AJO) has been turned off for job openings.
- Applicants will access and apply for jobs within the University’s Applicant Tracking System (PageUp).
- All open faculty searches posted to Academic Jobs Online prior to July 1st will be finalized using the previous process.

CLAS Internal Software Recent Updates
- CHAD
- Under Manage Commitments, a summation has been added for commitment purposes.
- Ability to search by department acronym in various fields vs. full department name.
- Commitment start date as a show/hide option on the Department Account Data report.
- Faculty name is now included in the Credit Hours Taught drill down in the Academic Dashboard.
Mileage Reimbursement Policy Update
- Employees traveling from their home to a business destination away from their usual workplace (such as an airport or train station) can only be reimbursed for the additional mileage beyond their normal commute.
- Employees must subtract their regular commuting distance to their duty station when claiming mileage for trips from home to business destinations.
- This policy still applies when UConn travel occurs on weekends and outside normal working hours.

Active Threat and Life Safety Training
- Please join us for presentations featuring Officer Justin Cheney from UConn Police and Student Health and Wellness (SHaW) for a training in Active Threat and Life Safety.
- The event will take place in Storrs Hall WW16 on July 23 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. (brunch will be served). RSVP for the event.

We currently send out Biweekly Faculty Reports (Bi-weekly Account Statements for grants and other funding). How often would you prefer to receive these reports? Please feel free to share this with others in your department for feedback and cast your vote.
Monthly Meetings
- Monthly meetings will take place between CLAS Shared Services Management and the following:
- The Controller’s Office will take place on Tuesday, July 23, and Friday, Aug. 16.
- Procurement will take place on Wednesday, Aug. 21.
- Procurement and A/P will take place on Monday, Aug. 12.

Professional Development Opportunities
- LinkedIn Learning is now available at no cost to all UConn staff on the Storrs campus as an e-learning resource.
- LinkedIn Learning offers an opportunity to develop professional skills through a digital library of over 6000 courses.
- Visit the Microsoft App Store and navigate to the LinkedIn Learning application to activate your license.

- CLAS Shared Services has a lending library with a variety of books on professional development and self-improvement.

- Academic Impressions offers professional development resources for higher education professionals. These resources include hundreds of hours of training on topics such as Academic Leadership, Advancement, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Faculty Success, Leadership Development, Compliance, and more.
- The Lexington Group, Inc. is UConn’s Employee Assistance Program (EAP). The Lexington Group provides confidential face-to-face counseling, or in certain circumstances, video counseling, to assist employees in identifying and resolving personal problems no matter how unique and diverse they appear. Examples include family and marital conflicts, stress, substance abuse, depression, and other emotional issues. The Lexington Group also assists with referrals for eldercare support, child care, as well as legal and financial guidance through our Life Care program.
- Employees may call The Lexington Group for immediate and confidential assistance at 1-800-676-HELP (4357) or access their website. The Lexington Group is available seven days a week, 24 hours a day.
Trainings
- The Office of Institutional Equity (OIE) is hosting the following in-person trainings:
- Pre-Interview Evaluations in Monteith, Room 420, on July 23 from 1:30-2:30 p.m.
- They will be focusing on Post-Interview Evaluations.
- Q&A session in the Rowe Building, Room 131, on Aug. 7 from 1:30-2:30 p.m.
- They will be answering questions about interview evaluations and search compliance.

CLAS Shared Services Grant Management
- For the month of June, CLAS faculty submitted 47 grant applications with a total requested amount of $64M.
- For the month of June, CLAS faculty were awarded 10 new awards, with a total funding amount of $1.7M.
- Haley Gilman had a healthy baby girl, Riley, born on April 26.
- Kayla Burgess successfully earned her Certified Research Administrator certification.
CLAS Shared Services Information Technology
- As of July 1, Classic Teams will be unsupported but will still be available to use until July 1, 2025, on computers running Windows 10.
- On Oct. 23, 2024, Teams, the Teams app will no longer be available on Windows 7 and 8.

CLAS Shared Services Facility Services
- Effective June 28, a new policy has been issued that states flyers may only be posted in designated areas like bulletin boards on campus. They must not be affixed to signs, lampposts, trees, or obstruct pathways. For safety reasons, flyers should not be slid under office or classroom doors. Use only non-damaging methods, such as tacks on bulletin boards or painter's tape on suitable surfaces. Compliance with departmental policies is required for posting.
